Stochastic Stoping (MSO) Workflow

The GeoMine Stochastic Stope Optimization Workflow runs the Stopemizer stoping limit optimizer across a set of block model realizations and produces a single consensus stoping limit from which minable shapes are designed and evaluated.

Underground stope designs are especially sensitive to grade uncertainty: a stope that is economic on the estimated model may be marginal or waste on half of the realizations. The Stochastic MSO Workflow runs the Stopemizer optimizer on every realization, accumulates a per-block vote count, and thresholds the votes to build one consensus stoping limit mesh. The minable shape optimizer (MSO) then designs stopes inside that consensus limit, and the stopes are evaluated against every realization to quantify grade, tonnage and value risk.

The workflow is configured from a tabbed setup dialog covering input realizations, stope layout and minimum stope dimensions, consensus threshold and reporting options. The full pipeline is also available through the GeoMine automation interface.

The Stochastic MSO Workflow depends on the following GeoMine modules Stopemizer + iSchedulerUG (coming soon: automatic design layout generation)

Key Benefits:

Runs the Stopemizer stoping limit optimizer once per realization using a common stope layout, block and stope cut-offs, and minimum stope widths in the E/W, N/S and elevation directions.

Creates a consensus stoping limit based on the user-specified probability threshold.

Runs the GeoMine Minable Shape Optimizer inside the consensus stoping limit to design practical stopes honouring the stope layout, dimensions and dilution/recovery settings. Supports both regular and light-weight stope designs.

Evaluates the designed stopes against every realization to produce per-stope and per-design tonnage, grade, metal and dollar value distributions with P10/P50/P90/Mean summaries.

Generates a self-contained HTML report with value and tonnage risk charts, plus a companion CSV of the chart data.

A tabbed dialog for input realizations, stope layout and dimensions, consensus threshold and reporting; settings are saved between sessions.

The stoping limit finder, vote accumulator and consensus builder are exposed as COM objects to the GeoMine C# scripting environment for batch and sensitivity runs.
